Original Postal Exam 473 & 473-C Study Guide

I was going to take the postal exam without using a study guide, but a friend told me that using a guide can help you score higher. I researched on Amazon and saw where The Original Postal Exam 473 & 473-C Study Guide was rated high. I ordered it and studied hard for a week before taking the test. I was very pleased with my score and the authors advice and hints were very useful. I was confident taking the test and would highly suggest buying one for yourself. The only drawback was this study guide is aimed for the written test which they no longer use. The test is now taken on a computer. Same layout and questions though. I also was expecting to receive a audio CD with this book, which I did not. I am pleased to say I have an interview next week for the job I applied for. Overall this book was helpful.

help me get the job

I bought this book because me and my husband were schedule to make the last mega exam here in Florida. I am glad we did. We both now work for the Postal service. I think know they change the test for online testing only, so only the test with CD would be helpfull, but I am not sure. I would not recomend to anyone to give money from the scams company around. I had two friends that told me they would get the job, they lost the money and never get in. Go to the USPS website to register for the test ([...])they will send to you information you need and sampler material to study. After that get the books to prepare yourself, that's all. Good Luck

All the casualties are remembered here—the RUC officer, the young soldier, the IRA volunteer, the loyalist paramilitary, the Catholic mother, the Protestant worker, and the new-born baby.

This book is well researched and every story has a good level of background

An absolutely fascinating account of every casualty of the "troubles". This book is well researched and every story has a good level of background, an account of the incident, and usually contemporary quotes from family, friends or colleagues. Some accounts are fairly brief but most go into enough detail to really give you a good overview of that particular incident. Some of the more "famous" deaths can run into several pages. The book is arranged chronologically but has an index making it easy to look up anyone you may be interested in. Related casualties are also linked.

Well worth the price if you have an interest in the personal side of the conflict as the narrative is factual and has absolutely no bias towards one "side" or the other.

A must for all survivors of the Troubles

This is not a book to take to the beach. It will be of interest to those of us who like me lived in Northern Ireland for at least part of the "Long War" as the IRA called it. It reminds us of all those thousands of ordinary people who died and who but for this book would be remembered only by family and friends. There are countless names of people listed here whom I had never heard of as we'll as all those I knew personally or who were neighbours. The book contextualises each death by allowing us to see its relevance or not to the overall political and military situation at the time. In this way we can often see the pointlessness of individual deaths, deaths of small people who were killed not for any grand cause but because they happened to be of one religion or another or in the wrong place at the wrong time. There were also those whose killers chose because they wanted to kill them for purely personal reasons. Listed here are the victims of the fanatics and psychopaths who used the Troubles as an excuse or justification for the killings they would have carried out at any time because they enjoyed killing.
This is a book to be passed on to the next generation who have already largely forgotten what their fathers and mothers endured for over 30 years. Hopefully it deters them from ever allowing the same conditions to re emerge where so many died just because they were there.

The book is what I expected. It's very thick and the wording is very small. So far I like it, but I think it's gonna take me awhile to read.

About the Author
J. I. Packer is regarded as one of the most influential evangelicals in North America. He is Board of Governors' Professor of Theology at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia, and his writings include books such as Knowing God, A Quest for Godliness, Growing in Christ (Crossway) and Rediscovering Holiness. He has preached and lectured widely in Great Britain and North America and served as general editor of the English Standard Version of the Bible published in 2001, and theological editor of the Study Bible version. In 2014, Packer was named Author of the Year by the Association of Logos Bookstores. He is a frequent contributor to and an executive editor of Christianity Today and has written numerous articles published in journals such as Churchman, SouthWestern Journal, Reformation & Revival Journal and Touchstone. He received a BA, MA and PhD from Oxford University.

Carolyn Nystrom (MA, Wheaton College) has written more than eighty books, Bible study guides and children's titles. She served as general editor for the Christian Classics series and she co-authored Guard Us, Guide Us and Praying with theologian J. I. Packer, and Before I Was Born (God's Design for Sex) with Sandra Speidel. In addition to actively serving in her church and community, she has been a foster parent, an elementary schoolteacher and a book editor. Carolyn lives in the Chicago area with her husband and they have four grown children.

What you expect for Haynes

This book is adequate to help me work on my "new to me", 30 year old Yamaha. Good basic information, but it leaves me wanting more pictures and diagrams. This book covers many models, so the detail for my particular bike is sometimes lacking or hard to find. Note that this book is English, so you get spanners instead of wrenches and tyres instead of tires. There is an English to American translation guide though. I got a kick out of that!

Yamaha XJ650 & 750 '80 - '84 Owners' Workshop Manual should be classified as a necessary tool more than a book. If you happen to have a motorcycle that is covered by this manual, it is a 'must have' tool! It is necessary to maintain your ride and trouble shoot problems that may arise. Its use simplifies problems that could become insurmountable without it. Minor electrical problems alone are enough to make some people junk an otherwise, fine old ride.

Don't let your blast from the past turn into a pile of rust in the backyard only because you were too lazy to read! Most of these bikes are bullet proof and easy to repair, but you have to make the first move.
