Nasty

I've bought used books before so I know what to expect. Maybe the occasional highlight or note written. But this book was awful. It's has paragraph after paragraph highlighted and whoever owned this book before was a HEAVY smoker which I'm not so this books stinks. If you want to represent your products as good and acceptable you should really make sure they are.

I really enjoy reading this book. it has really helped me to strengthen my knowledge of anatomy and physiology as a surgical technician. this book speak to my needs as a professional. I highly recommend this book for any surgical technologist who wants to cover all basis and knowledge.

Not a good textbook

The merchants offered this at a great price (thank you!) but the writing is terrible. Unfortunately this is the book used for my A&P classes. There are a few good one-liners regarding specific parts of anatomy, but overall this is not worth the effort to read. It hasn't been updated further since 2006!

A perfect book with audio examples for accent reduction

I owned the first edition and have been listening to the CDs and reading the book for many years. In the second edition the author generously added about 1/5 more very helpful audio files to the book. The four CDs are replaced by hundred of MP3 files with sequential label to match the book's text.

We live in a world where that a leader that is aggressive, fearless and energetic is the best. Maximizing profits is the most important thing . In Simple words to win is the ultimate goal no matter how many lives are affected. the question I ask myself is, in this reality where are the values or the universal principles that have allowed the coexistence of human beings.? And by values or universal principles I am referring to compassion, kindness, patience, respect, sharing, justice,faith, among other. Certainly at least from my point of view values ​​are the foundation upon which you can build not just a company but a whole world. who could think that "the more we give is actually the more we receive. .. But it is true I am a living witness that that rule is true.

But an intriguing question this book brought to me is if I am prepared to receive and if am I aware that I am receiving all the time?

A very short, easy read that's in story format. A young man, Joe, goes to a known mentor with one idea in mind and walks away with much more. It reminds me of "Give a man fish and he eats for a day. Teach him to fish and he eats for a lifetime." Joe learned to fish using these five "laws":

1. THE LAW OF VALUE - Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.
2. THE LAW OF COMPENSATION - Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.
3. THE LAW OF INFLUENCE - Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people's interests first.
4. THE LAW OF AUTHENTICITY - The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.
5. THE LAW OF RECEPTIVITY - The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

I think this is the big piece missing for many hard working ppl in the business world today. They are out there 'hustling' and 'grinding' all these buzz words out there today that mean the same as being a go getter. They forget to give. Napoleon Hill talked about this at length in Think and Grow rich when he reveled his secret formula. He said set a money goal and then define exactly what you are going to GIVE in return for for the money? U don't get a fire without giving wood. No crop without planting and harvesting. My First Book About Piss

It's very good, but to the buyer, if you are already okay with your own pee, a good portion of the energy of this book is dedicated to persuading the layman 'fraidy cat that it is REALLY okay to drink pee and rub it all over yourself etc., :-) I didn't need persuasion because I already knew about it, but, then the book gets more into the thick of it and there are many great facts. If you are already okay with urine therapy, this book has the facts to make you a passionate practitioner and if you have the nuts, an advocate. Facts are helpful to me, because here in the west, people don't know about old medicines like this, just be forewarned that this book is written to be a crowd pleaser, coddles the suspicious folks' egos a little more than I want to read. I'm more a "just gimme the facts" kinda guy.

Initially, drinking pee can be a severe wake-up to how detached we are from our body. I spent five months, the first time I went through with it. The first two months was tough. Afterward that period had passed, the pee actually tasted quite nutty like a cool smoothy.

Adding sweetness (honey, etc) and tartness (lemon juice, etc) to it helps. Pee is very alkaline. Add to that its peculiar flavor, and tartness helps alleviate the strong impact pee has for us beginners.

Also, adjustment is a challenge. It's easy to drink pee if it is made tart with something like "True Lemon" juice crystals, or real lemon juice. But the consequence is that it is also easy to feel weak and have a rapid heart beat when drinking most all of the morning pee if not accustomed to it. So, I also make use of lots of potassium iodide. When I say lots, I mean "by the milligram", not "by the microgram".

Comparing sizes- leather bound and paper back.

This review is primarily to give a feedback on the sizes of leather bound and paperback printed books. I initially bought leather bound books. They were really pretty and paper quality was very good. But the down side is they are really small books. So I got the paperback edition books. These books are bigger than leather bound and easy to read. So it totally depends on the customer what size book you would like to buy. I attached a photo to compare. Hope this helps

Better than the first time...

I first read this book when I was about 16 or 17. I loved it then and I came away thinking that my worldview had been changed, that I looked differently at the small things that make life so great. Imagine my surprise reading it again over a decade later and realizing how much of it flew over my head then. Fulghum never disappoints and his wit and wisdom never grown old. I love this book more now than I did then, And as an adult I've come to realize what Fulghum posits within the first few pages, that most of what you need to know in life in order to be happy human being you learned before the age of six. I think too many of us focus on growing up and setting aside the lessons of youth that we forget that. It's a good thing Fulghum didn't.
